Tools I built for reading research. They started in Laysum, an invite-only reading app, and run here as public demos.

• Paper search

  Searches OpenAlex, Crossref, arXiv, Semantic Scholar, Europe PMC and bioRxiv together, merges duplicates, and checks which papers you can actually read.

• PDF reader

  Opens papers from supported hosts, or any PDF from your own computer, in the browser. Select text to rewrite it in plain language.

• Plain-language translator

  Rewrites dense academic text at a chosen reading level. A small demo with a daily limit.
